Belchengeister

Narrenzunft der Belchengeister und Chäsliwieber e. V. is a carnival guild based in Münstertal, bringing members together to celebrate local traditions and take part in the Fasnet season. Its distinctive characters include the Belchengeist, the Chäsliwieber and the three Urgeister, each reflecting part of the guild’s identity and history. Members also perform traditional dances, including the Chäsliwieber-Tanz, and prepare for appearances at carnival parades and other events.

The guild supports an active community life throughout the year, with activities such as group walks, rehearsals, gatherings and events for young members. Its calendar includes meetings at the Belchenhalle and activities at the guild hall. The organisation also manages loan costumes, or Häs, for members, offering costume pieces and accessories such as masks, bells, umbrellas and guild badges. Members can arrange to borrow, exchange or retain costumes for the coming season, subject to the guild’s return and deposit requirements. Through its events, performances and membership activities, the guild helps preserve and share the customs of its carnival community.
