About Belgrade Design Week
Belgrade Design Week (BDW) is a pioneering brand in the world of festivals, established in 2005 as a non-profit NGO by Jovan Jelovac. It is the first festival of its kind in Serbia and the South East European region, attracting attention from a population of over 100 million people from Milan to Istanbul. BDW's primary goal is to connect creative minds, their ideas, products, and processes with a global audience.
BDW achieves this through a world-class conference and a cutting-edge regional design show. This platform allows guests to explore the vibrant gourmet and nightlife scene in Belgrade, which serves as the region's capital. Since its inception, BDW has gained international recognition and has been ranked among the top ten creative events in the world by prominent global opinion makers.
Belgrade Design Week showcases a diverse range of design-related businesses, including object and graphic design, architecture, branding, advertising, music, digital media, TV, art, publishing, film, fashion, and media. BDW's mission is to bridge the gap between the creative industries and the business world in a unbiased manner, unlocking Belgrade's creative potential. The success of BDW can be measured by its noteworthy achievements, such as Daniel Libeskind's commission to design Belgrade's new waterfront development after his lecture at BDW 2008.
As you read this, the ideas and connections forged at Belgrade Design Week are flourishing globally. With a dedicated team of professionals and a vision to inspire, BDW continues to shape the future of the creative industries
