Britney Gengel was a compassionate and spirited 19-year-old who set out on a journey of hope to Haiti with a dream of making a difference. Tragically, she lost her life in the devastating 2010 earthquake, but not before expressing her heartfelt desire to open an orphanage for the children she had grown to love. Her last text message that was sent to her mom 3 hours before the earthquake, ignited a powerful mission that led to the creation of Brit's Home in Haiti. Britney's legacy lives on through the lives she continues to touch, inspiring countless others to contribute and carry forward her dream.

About Be Like Brit
Be Like Brit is a brand that is dedicated to honoring the memory of Britney Gengel, a courageous 19-year-old girl who tragically lost her life in the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Britney believed in making a difference in the world and had a deep love for the children of Haiti. In order to fulfill her last wish of starting an orphanage, her family established the Be Like Brit Foundation.
At Brit's Home in Grand-Goâve, Haiti, this foundation has built a remarkable 19,000 square foot home in the shape of the letter B. It stands as a symbol of hope and compassion for the children of Haiti. The home follows the same seismic standards as buildings in San Francisco and is the first certified earthquake-proof structure in Haiti.
The Be Like Brit Foundation offers various programs and initiatives to raise and support the next generation of leaders in Haiti. They strive to provide a nurturing environment, education, and healthcare for the children in their care. Through the sale of their book, Heartache and Hope in Haiti: The Britney Gengel Story, the foundation funds Brit's Academy and reading initiatives at Brit's Home.
