About Belize Audubon
Belize Audubon Society (BAS) is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to the sustainable management of Belize's natural resources. Established in 1969, BAS has a rich history and is the longest-standing conservation NGO in Belize. With a focus on creating a balance between people and the environment, BAS works collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the protection and preservation of Belize's most diverse and biologically important areas.
BAS manages seven protected areas, known as the National Jewels, which encompass both marine and terrestrial environments. Through effective site management strategies and partnerships with communities, BAS aims to continuously improve the environmental integrity of these areas. In addition to their conservation efforts, BAS is actively involved in environmental education, community outreach, and biodiversity research and monitoring.
They also offer various volunteer and internship opportunities for individuals passionate about conservation. By becoming a member of the Belize Audubon Society, you can actively participate in events and contribute to the important work they do. Join BAS in their mission to create a brighter and better future by conserving Belize's natural treasures
