Munich Re Specialty – North America, Binding Authorities connects US wholesalers, brokers, coverholders and managing general agents with flexible insurance solutions. Formerly known as Bell & Clements, the team combines decades of market experience with specialist underwriting expertise, technology and established broker relationships. Its largely non-admitted business draws on in-house capabilities, third-party capacity and surplus lines cover, with access to Great Lakes Insurance SE, Lloyd’s and company markets.

The business offers delegated binding authority solutions, including Excess and Surplus lines contracts, as well as in-house underwriting for individual, facultative and brokerage risks. Underwriters assess risks individually and take a tailored approach to client needs. The team also provides claims support, working closely with underwriting and broking colleagues to help ensure claims are handled fairly, efficiently and accurately.

Technology is central to its service. The Bridge, a web-based data management portal, supports real-time data processing and provides underwriting tools, reports, forms, claims information and premium and claim account functions. Analytics and system integration help partners monitor performance and make informed decisions.
