About Bellevue Wine Estate
Bellevue Wine Estate, located in Stellenbosch, South Africa, is a brand with a rich history and a passion for winemaking. Established in 1861 by Dirk Cloete Morkel, the estate has been passed down through four generations of innovative winemakers. One of their notable achievements includes being one of the first wine farmers to plant Pinotage at scale on their property.
Bellevue Wine Estate takes pride in their award-winning wines, with their Pinotage made from the 1953 block receiving the coveted General Smuts Trophy. Under the leadership of Dirkie Morkel, Bellevue has produced wines of character that have gained recognition both locally and internationally.
The estate's vineyards, which were once a livestock farm, now boast closely planted bush vines that contribute to the intensity and concentration of flavors in their fruit. Bellevue combines the harvests from these old vines with innovative production methods to create exceptional wines.
Whether you're a wine enthusiast or simply looking to enjoy a unique tasting experience, Bellevue Wine Estate offers a range of wines that can be purchased from their online shop or tasted at their Wine Tasting Centre in Stellenbosch. However, please note that the tasting centre will be closed for the winter break from 10-28 July.
