BEM | books & more is a Black- and woman-owned business founded by Gabrielle & Danielle Davenport in Brooklyn, NY. Our brand celebrates and promotes the rich intersection of food and literature within the African diaspora. As sisters with a deep appreciation for our grandmothers' influences, we fold the love for food, books, and diverse cultures into our bookstore.

At BEM, we believe that food opens doors to life, sustenance, love, and politics. We invite you to join our community as we embark on this journey together. We envision growing our team, launching products in collaboration with artists and makers, and becoming a hub for scholarship on foodways.
