Benefit Discs is a North Carolina-registered 501(c)(3) organization that uses disc golf to support charitable giving, community fundraisers, and memorial tributes. Its central idea is to keep putters moving from player to player and course to course, while tracking where each disc travels. This migration can help raise awareness of causes and introduce them to new communities.
Players can register a disc for a memorial or tribute at no cost, share a person’s story, and follow the disc’s journey. Memorial registrations do not include fundraising. For charity and fundraising campaigns, a small donation is requested when someone checks in a disc, and the disc is left for the next player to use. Donations to Benefit Discs and its campaigns are tax-deductible.
The organization also runs featured campaigns, including the Laura Ross Memorial Fund and a general fund supporting its mission. Its “Throw Pink” closest-to-the-pin basket offers tournament and event participants a chance to support breast cancer fundraising. Benefit Discs welcomes donations, sponsors, and matching-fund support.
