Bentang Jawa, organised by Bentang Jelajah Nusantara, creates unsupported ultra-cycling experiences across Java, Indonesia. Since 2021, its flagship race has challenged riders to navigate approximately 1,500 kilometres from Carita in the west to Banyuwangi in the east within a 156-hour cut-off. The route crosses five provinces and includes substantial climbing through coastal areas, hills, mountains and forests. Riders may compete solo or in pairs, but must manage their own navigation, supplies and accommodation without a support crew. Entry is by application, with organisers selecting a deliberately small field.

The programme also includes Kelana, a shorter, steeper ride with more gravel that follows the same unsupported ethos and rules, and Graventure, a community ride offering a first taste of unsupported cycling. Bentang Jawa shares race information, rules, participant lists, live tracking and results, alongside documentaries about each edition. Through these events and films, the organisation brings riders together around self-reliance, exploration and the demanding landscapes of Java.
