About BERAS Development
BERAS International | Järna is a foundation dedicated to promoting education, information, research, and development in sustainable food systems with a holistic approach to regenerative organic farming, sustainable dietary systems, and bioregions. The foundation, based in Södertälje municipality, collaborates with various partners to carry out its activities. Their work involves fostering a regenerative approach among public actors, businesses, and civil society.
BERAS International offers a range of services, including education and consulting, focused on three key concepts: the Diet for a Green Planet, Sustainable Food Communities - Ecological Districts, and Organic Regenerative Agriculture. Exciting news! BERAS International, together with Södertälje municipality, has been chosen as the Swedish partners for a major EU project on sustainable food systems called KISMET. Starting in January 2023 and led by Hamburg city, the three-year project aims to develop the first eco-region in the Baltic Sea region, covering the landscape of Sörmland.
Their associated organizations include Ekerö municipality, Stockholm University, and Uppsala University.
