BER Assessors Association of Ireland (BERAA) is a voluntary organization representing BER Assessors, DEC Assessors, and Technical Advisors throughout Ireland. Established in 2009, shortly after the launch of the BER program in Ireland, BERAA aims to advocate for its members in ongoing discussions with SEAI and other stakeholders. Their primary objective is to ensure the interests of their members are protected by providing necessary briefings, training, and information regarding changes in legislation and work practices.

BERAA is committed to promoting the key role of the Assessor profession in the energy transition in Ireland. They strive for a scenario where a BER assessment goes beyond a mere Certificate for property transactions and focuses on identifying opportunities for decarbonizing the built environment. They envision the expansion of Assessor roles as outlined in the Climate Action Plan and the establishment of the same professional standing as other construction and surveying disciplines.

BERAA aims to create a positive working environment that attracts and rewards both existing Assessors and new entrants. They value engagement with relevant stakeholders and work towards ensuring Assessor representation in matters affecting their livelihoods.
