DAV Sektion Bergbund Würzburg

Sektion Bergbund Würzburg is a local section of the German Alpine Club (DAV), founded in 1948 and serving more than 4,000 members in the heart of Mainfranken. With a welcoming, community-oriented spirit, it brings together people who enjoy mountains, outdoor activities and time in nature. Members and visitors can take part in a varied programme of tours, courses and social events, including hiking, climbing, mountain biking and Nordic walking.

The section also organizes outings and regular meet-ups, with activities ranging from local walks and climbing days to mountain and ski tours. Its own self-catering Würzburg Bergbund Hut, located on Himmeldunk in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve, is a family-friendly base used for courses, excursions and events. The hut is a central part of section life and offers an opportunity to share experiences with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

Bergbund Würzburg provides information about upcoming activities through its website and free newsletter, and offers membership, equipment loan services and opportunities to volunteer
