About Bergedorfer Mühle
Verein Bergedorfer Mühle e.V. is a Hamburg-based nonprofit association dedicated to preserving and sharing the heritage of the Bergedorfer Mill. The historic gallery Dutch windmill, built in 1831 and operated until 1969, retains its original machinery, which remains functional. Recognised as a technical monument, the mill also serves as a venue for cultural activities and community events.
The association welcomes visitors to guided tours and walks, where they can explore the mill’s history, traditional milling techniques and restoration. Visits are available for schools, kindergartens, adult groups and other visitors, with a special programme for children. The site also offers an exhibition, a virtual tour and historical images and videos.
Its programme includes live music, concerts, craft and Easter markets, and other cultural events. Based at Chrysanderstraße 52a in Hamburg, the association invites people to experience local history in an engaging setting. Supporters can help preserve the mill by becoming members or contributing as supporting members, with contributions starting at €15 per year.
