Bergfest eV

Bergfest e.V. is a student association at TU Ilmenau that organizes Bergfest, a long-standing local tradition celebrating the halfway point of university studies. More than 50 years ago, the event began with small dance evenings and has since grown into a festival week featuring a varied program of activities and performances. The association brings together around 60 members, who start preparations approximately nine months in advance and work collaboratively to plan and deliver the events.

Bergfest’s program includes the Dancing baSH, Anstich, Ehrenberg Wiesn, an after-party, the Bierathlon, live entertainment, tournaments, and BF Beats. The organization also provides a ticket shop and publishes event schedules, results, and contact information through its website. Beyond the festival itself, Bergfest e.V. invites students to meet its members and take part in its work, with weekly association meetings open to visitors. The group also appears during TU Ilmenau’s first-year student week, offering opportunities to get acquainted through activities such as a barbecue and a city rally.
