Bergfuehrer-Schneiderde

Jan Schneider is a state-certified mountain and ski guide based in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where he leads clients on mountain adventures around Garmisch and the Zugspitze. Drawn to skiing from childhood, he discovered climbing at 17 and later pursued mountaineering, including expeditions to Pakistan, Peru and Patagonia. He moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2017 to be closer to the mountains and share his experience as a professional guide.

His tours and courses cover climbing, via ferratas, alpine routes, north-face ascents and classic Zugspitze itineraries, including the Höllental route and Jubiläumsgrat. Winter offerings include ice-climbing courses for beginners and advanced climbers, climbing-team coaching, mixed climbing and dry-tooling, as well as ski touring, freeride instruction, avalanche transceiver training and ski ascents. Routes and destinations range from local Garmisch peaks and the Alpspitze to selected objectives in South Tyrol and the Eiger North Face. Schneider describes himself as especially fond of guiding where the ice is good, while also welcoming adventures on rock and snow.
