About Berith Sholom
Berith Sholom is a progressive Reform congregation with a rich and proud history. As a caring community, we welcome both traditional and non-traditional families to experience joyful worship, lifelong learning, and acts of loving kindness. At Berith Sholom, we are committed to engaging with the spirit of Reform Judaism and the State of Israel, encouraging our members of all ages to actively contribute to our congregation and the wider community.
Our synagogue, which dates back to 1866, is the oldest continuously used building for worship in New York State. Led by Rabbi Debora S. Gordon, our congregation fosters a dynamic environment of learning and leadership.
We are proud of our dedicated volunteer choir, directed by Dan Foster, whose evocative performances enhance our synagogue experience. We also offer cemetery burial services and a variety of volunteer opportunities within our congregation. Come and join us as we work together to repair the world and create a warm and open community
