Berkshire Community Rowing (BCR) is a not-for-profit rowing organization based at Onota Lake in Burbank Park, Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Since 1995, it has helped hundreds of people discover rowing or renew their enjoyment of the sport. BCR offers rowing experiences and coaching for people of all ages, with opportunities to row recreationally or competitively in individual and team boats.
The club welcomes members to take part both on the water and in supporting the organization. Volunteer activities include coaching novice rowers, managing membership and merchandise, organizing events, building community partnerships, and helping with grants and boathouse maintenance. BCR also encourages members to contribute to committees and share expertise to strengthen the club.
The boathouse operates from May 1 through October 30, with scheduled morning rowing sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Seasonal registration is available through Regatta Central, and members can contact the organization to ask about monthly ACH payments. BCR’s community-focused approach combines instruction, teamwork, recreation, and competition in a shared rowing environment.
