Their tiles are meticulously designed to be both long-lasting and vibrant in color. The brand's story began in Spain in 2004 when its founder, Lee Thornley, left London to build a boutique hotel.

During this endeavor, Thornley discovered his natural talent for sourcing reclaimed materials and antique fittings, which were highly sought after by interior architects and designers. Inspired to share these unique finds with a wider audience, Thornley started importing reclaimed tiles and, in 2010, met Juanma, owner of a family business specializing in artisan encaustic tiles. This meeting led to the reopening of the family factory, and Bert & May officially launched in 2013.
