Berthold Types is a renowned typefoundry with a rich history in crafting high-quality typefaces. Founded in 1858 by Hermann Berthold in Berlin, the H. Berthold typefoundry quickly became the largest in the world with offices in various cities.

Over the years, Berthold developed proprietary typesetting equipment and introduced groundbreaking advancements in the industry. Their most celebrated typeface is the iconic Akzidenz-Grotesk, hailed as the mother of all sans serifs. Additionally, the Berthold Exklusiv Collection features typefaces exclusively created for Berthold by distinguished designers.

In 1997, Berthold Types acquired all rights associated with the collection. Now, with Monotype's recent acquisition of Berthold's historic library, these iconic typefaces will gain global visibility and remain accessible to creatives worldwide.
