Best Buddies International is the largest global organization dedicated to eliminating social, physical, and economic isolation for around 200 million people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Their programs focus on empowering and supporting the development of special skills for this group of individuals. They provide assistance through employment opportunities, independent living, public appearances to increase visibility of vulnerable groups, communication skill development, and creating conditions for these individuals to be valuable and esteemed members of society.

Their mission in Serbia aims to form a volunteer network that facilitates the establishment of friendships among peers with and without intellectual disabilities, engagement in the employment process, support for independent living, and the development of confidence and strength. Best Buddies Serbia serves individuals with various developmental disabilities, such as Down syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy, through programs centered on friendship building, integrated employment, leadership development, and supportive living.
