The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is a vital national agency committed to ensuring safety and security across Nigeria. With a primary focus on civil defence, the NSCDC engages in various operations, including the safeguarding of critical national infrastructures and combating illegal activities such as mining. Recently, the NSCDC has taken a stand against complicity within law enforcement, particularly highlighting an incident involving Nigeria Police Force officers accused of aiding illegal miners in Nasarawa State.

The agency is currently involved in legal proceedings regarding the prosecution of illegal mining operations, which involve high-profile arrests and ongoing court cases. The NSCDC’s activities are not limited to law enforcement but extend to promoting public safety and environmental protection. They are dedicated to upholding justice and maintaining order, as evidenced by their recent petitions to the Senate seeking intervention on matters of police misconduct and attempts to thwart their operations. With their proactive stance, the NSCDC is essential in fostering a secure environment and holding accountable those who undermine legal processes.
