Betsy Podlach paintings

Betsy Podlach is a Philadelphia-based figurative painter whose work brings together Renaissance classicism and Expressionist influence. Her paintings explore human emotion, intimacy, sexuality, and the beauty and fragility of everyday life, often depicting women, couples, portraits, and imagined scenes. Through expressive use of form, space, light, and color, Podlach creates images that feel both grounded in a moment and connected to an imagined past or future.

Her work spans several subjects and formats, including figurative paintings, female nudes, floral and still-life compositions, landscapes, drawings, and paintings on paper. The website presents available work alongside selected sold pieces and archives covering different periods of her career. Podlach also accepts personalized commissions, including portraits of loved ones and pets. Collectors can inquire about purchases or commissions directly with the artist or through galleries that represent her work. Her paintings have been shown at galleries including Chase Young Gallery in Boston and Frederick Holmes and Company, and two works were licensed by Marni for fashion shows in Milan and New York.
