About Bevica Fonden
Bevica Fonden is a Danish foundation working to advance a society in which people with disabilities have the greatest possible independence and opportunity to participate on equal terms. Established in 1872, the foundation focuses on universal design as a way to create more inclusive environments and solutions for everyone. Its work is guided by Denmark’s commitments under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the principle of leaving no one behind.
The foundation’s activities are organised around three areas: knowledge, partnerships and public conversation. Through its Universal Design Hub, it supports interdisciplinary research, a researcher network, educational environments and the Bevica Scholarship Programme. Its knowledge resources include articles, research and practical tools that help explain and apply universal design.
Rather than operating as an application-driven grant foundation, Bevica Fonden works with partners across architecture, design, technology, education and society to develop and test ideas in practice.
