Bewegungsbaustelle

Bewegungsbaustelle Berlin offers psychomotoric movement and learning experiences for children, using play and physical activity to support their development. Its approach gives children room to choose their own challenges and explore a varied range of materials and setups. Rather than directing every activity, the educators provide a supportive environment where children can experiment, make decisions, solve problems, and experience confidence in their own abilities. Movement is used to encourage motor, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

The organization’s services include its Bewegungsbaustelle sessions, Erlebnisturnen (experiential gymnastics), psychomotoric support, and professional training. Its mobile Bewegungsbaustelle also brings movement activities beyond its own spaces. Training and teaching draw on the team’s experience as sports scientists, psychomotoric educators, therapists, and lecturers. The work is guided by a respectful, non-judgmental attitude toward each child’s strengths and needs, with activities adapted to individual and group settings. Based in Berlin, Bewegungsbaustelle Berlin also shares its work through community events and social media, and supports educators in applying psychomotoric principles in practice.
