Be Well Texas is a statewide program and flagship initiative of the Be Well Institute on Substance Use and Related Disorders at UT San Antonio. It works to expand compassionate, evidence-based care for people affected by alcohol or drug use, substance use disorders, and related mental illness, as well as support for their families. The program offers treatment and recovery services across Texas, including in-person and virtual visits through the Be Well Texas Clinic, help finding providers, and support for youth, young adults, and maternal health needs.
Insurance is not required, and the program may help cover treatment costs in many cases. People can also access naloxone, request appointments, and use MyChart. For health care and community professionals, Be Well Texas provides patient referrals, resources, training, telementoring, and a maternal health consultation line.
The initiative also advances treatment research and clinical trials. With a statewide network and services available in communities across Texas, Be Well Texas aims to improve care and help address the effects of substance use on individuals, families, and communities
