Beyond Breadwinning

Beyond Breadwinning is a marriage preparation workshop designed for Orthodox Jewish (frum) men who are preparing to date, are actively dating, or are engaged. Founded and facilitated by Rabbi Dr. Dovid Brownstein, a licensed psychologist, the program helps participants prepare for the roles of husband and father—not only as providers, but as emotionally aware and engaged partners and parents.

The intensive workshop combines psychological research with Torah values, covering married life, relationship skills, mental health, self-understanding, and what participants may seek and need in a spouse. Its group format encourages interaction and camaraderie, and the program is intended for groups of young men from a range of Orthodox backgrounds. Workshops are generally offered in person and can be arranged for communities, yeshivas, shuls, and other organizations; an online option may be available by request. Participants can also access follow-up consultations with Dr. Brownstein and supporting resources. Beyond Breadwinning presents its services as practical preparation for lifelong success in marriage and fatherhood, helping men approach the journey with greater knowledge, confidence, and emotional intelligence.
