About The Beyond Oil & Gas Alliance
The Beyond Oil & Gas Alliance (BOGA) is a pioneering international coalition co-chaired by Denmark and Quebec, dedicated to phasing out oil and gas production to combat climate change. Formed by Costa Rica and Denmark, BOGA unites governments and stakeholders to tackle the urgent need for a transition away from fossil fuels, aligning actions with the Paris Agreement goals of limiting global warming to well below 2°C and pursuing efforts for 1. 5°C.
The alliance aims to elevate the discussion of fossil fuel production in international climate negotiations, driving commitments and mobilizing action towards a managed and equitable phase-out of these resources. BOGA seeks to create a supportive community for governments, encouraging them to adopt similar ambitious goals. Supported by influential leaders and organizations, BOGA emphasizes the critical science-backed need to limit fossil fuel supply while ensuring a just transition for economies reliant on these resources.
