Recognizing the clear outperformance of women innovators despite their limited access to capital, Beyond The Billion rallied the venture community to pledge $1 billion towards women-founders. The goal was successfully met in under 9 months.

Now, their mission goes beyond that initial billion, focusing on driving capital to and with venture funds that invest in women, with the aim of driving returns through diversity. As part of their efforts, Beyond The Billion launched The Billion Dollar Fund for Women (TBDF), which mobilized more than 80 venture funds committed to investing $1 billion in women-founded companies. Their first billion global impact report reveals that over $600 million has been deployed by their partner funds within two years.

This report showcases the success of their campaign, with almost 800 companies receiving funding, including nine recognized unicorns. Additionally, female founders featured in the report have gone on to raise over $4 billion within the 2018-2020 pledge campaign. Beyond The Billion also provides insights on how limited partners (LPs) and general partners (GPs) can better support women-led innovation.

They address the systemic bias that exists within investment processes and fundraising for female founders. They advocate for re-engineering LP processes to increase portfolio diversity and offer strategies for fund managers investing in female founders to overcome fundraising challenges.
