Biathlon

Biathlon Alberta is the provincial governing body for biathlon, the Olympic winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle marksmanship. Its mission is to promote, develop, and administer the sport to a high standard of excellence across Alberta. The organization supports a community of 16 member clubs and almost 500 individual members, with five full-time staff helping deliver programs and services.

Biathlon Alberta organizes more than a dozen seasonal events each year, including winter and summer competitions at facilities around the province. Its event calendar features the Calforex Cups and Western Series, alongside courses, meetings, and other opportunities to participate. The organization also supports athletes, coaches, and officials through training resources, coaching staff, and the Biathlon Alberta Training Centre in Canmore.

Members can access pathways to provincial teams and competitions such as the Alberta Winter Games, Arctic Winter Games, Canada Winter Games, and National Championships. Biathlon Alberta offers membership and club information, promotes safe sport, and welcomes partners and supporters to help strengthen the sport and its community
