Biathlon New Zealand (BNZ) is the national organisation for biathlon, the Olympic sport that combines cross-country skiing and target shooting. Affiliated with the International Biathlon Union, BNZ has represented the sport in New Zealand since 1994 and works to organise and grow participation across the country.
The organisation introduces newcomers to biathlon through information about the sport’s format, equipment and structure, including explanatory guides and videos. It helps people find opportunities to try biathlon at Snow Farm NZ or in their local area, and shares information about Wanaka Biathlon Club and biathlon training programmes. BNZ also offers biathlon proficiency awards and Snow Farm ski proficiency awards, supporting skill development in both disciplines.
For fans, athletes and the wider community, the website shares a biathlon calendar, results and news, as well as ways to follow New Zealand athletes competing internationally and at the Olympic level. Visitors can contact the organisation to ask about biathlon, its athletes or ways to get involved.
