**Bible Odyssey** is an educational initiative of the Society of Biblical Literature that aims to deepen public understanding of the Bible's complex narrative and its extensive cultural significance. Founded in 1880, the Society is the oldest and largest organization dedicated to the critical examination of biblical texts, comprised of a diverse group of over 8,000 scholars worldwide. Bible Odyssey serves as a bridge, engaging both the general public and academic communities in exploring the multifaceted themes, stories, and critical approaches to the Bible, which is not merely one book but a compilation of various genres, including poetry, law codes, and gospels.

The platform offers a wealth of resources, including reference tools, maps, timelines, and collections, designed to foster appreciation for the diversity of biblical interpretations. Unlike traditional Bible study conducted in religious settings, Bible Odyssey encourages an academic discourse that illuminates the scholarly investigation of the Bible's impact on culture and society. Through accessible content, it invites readers from all walks of life to appreciate the richness of biblical literature.
