Biblia Arabica is a pioneering research consortium focused on the intricate history and significance of Arabic translations of sacred texts among Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Established following the successful project “Biblia Arabica: The Bible in Arabic among Jews, Christians, and Muslims,” it aims to explore and document the vast corpus of manuscripts, translations, and cultural exchanges that emerged after the 7th and 8th centuries CE, when diverse religious communities began translating their scriptures into Arabic. This initiative highlights the transcommunal heritage of Arabic Bible manuscripts, providing critical insights into their stylistic, didactic features, and historical contexts.

Funded by the prestigious DFG DIP grants, Biblia Arabica fosters collaboration among scholars and promotes innovative studies on biblical translations throughout history. Its findings and analyses contribute to a deeper understanding of the interactions between religious communities and their texts.
