The Bibliographie d’Ornithologie Française is an online reference resource designed to make scientific literature about birds in metropolitan France easier to find. It brings together bibliographic references to studies published on the country’s birdlife and provides a searchable way to explore them. Visitors can search using keywords such as an author’s name, publication year, journal, species, location, or subject.

The site also allows users to combine search criteria, helping them narrow results across several aspects of a study at once. This approach can support focused research into a particular bird, place, topic, publication, or period, as well as broader exploration of French ornithological literature. Rather than presenting itself as a general wildlife portal, the site has a specific purpose: facilitating access to scientific references on birds in metropolitan France.

Its organized, keyword-based search makes it a practical starting point for locating relevant publications and navigating the research literature within this defined field
