About Bichon Frise Club of America
The Bichon Frise Club of America (BFCA) is the American Kennel Club-recognized national club for the Bichon Frise in the United States. As guardian of the breed, BFCA maintains its official conformation standard and works to advance and protect the breed through education, research, events, and rescue. Its members promote responsible breeding and ownership and help prospective owners learn about adopting a Bichon or finding a puppy.
The club provides information on breed history, health, responsible breeding practices, and puppy scams, along with a directory referring visitors to breeder-club members; it does not endorse individual breeders. BFCA also supports Bichon owners through national and local clubs, membership resources, mentorship, and a calendar of activities. Events and programs include conformation shows, agility, obedience, futurity, and trick dog activities, as well as judges’ education.
The website connects visitors with the Bichon Health Resource Center and BFCA Rescue. Through these resources and activities, the club serves breed enthusiasts, owners, and people considering welcoming a Bichon Frise into their family
