Bideawee

Bideawee is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue and shelter serving pets and the people who care for them. With locations in Manhattan, Wantagh, and Westhampton, the organization’s mission is to create and strengthen the human-animal bond through lifesaving and compassionate care. Its services include cat and dog adoptions, with experienced matchmakers helping prospective adopters find a suitable companion. Bideawee also recruits foster volunteers, particularly on Long Island, to provide temporary homes for animals in need.

Beyond shelter and adoption services, Bideawee offers veterinary care through its animal hospital, along with programs focused on socialization, training, and pet therapy. Its Feral Cat Initiative supports community cat care, while pet memorial parks and pet-loss support services help people honor and cope with the loss of a companion animal. The organization also engages the community through volunteer opportunities, events, educational resources, and ways to give. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and New York State shelter and rescue, Bideawee relies on public participation and donations to support its work.
