The Schweizer Brauerei-Verband is the national association representing Switzerland’s brewing industry. Founded in 1877, it brings together 43 Swiss brewing companies operating 51 brewing sites, which account for more than 97 percent of domestic beer production. The association provides information about beer, brewing and the Swiss beer market, while representing the industry through news, statements and public resources.
Its activities include the Swiss Beer Award, a biennial national competition recognizing beers of different styles brewed in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The association also shares industry updates, background articles and stories through its website and newsletter, and provides information on job openings, events and brewing-related training. In collaboration with GastroSuisse, it offers an intensive beer sommelier seminar focused on discovering, tasting and successfully selling beer. Additional resources celebrate Swiss brewing heritage, including historical beer posters and the AD GLORIAM CEREVISIAE award for exceptional contributions to beer. The association promotes responsible, moderate consumption and notes that member breweries are expanding their range of alcohol-free and reduced-alcohol products.
