About B.I.G. Battery Industry Group
The Battery Industry Group (B. I. G.
) is dedicated to ensuring that batteries play a crucial role in Aotearoa New Zealand's transition to a low-emissions future. With a focus on effectively managing batteries throughout their lifecycle, the group aims to maximize their resource use through reuse in second life applications, recovery, and recycling. Comprised of over 170 stakeholders, including representatives from various sectors of the large battery value chain, B.
I. G. collaborates to design the product stewardship scheme mandated by the government for priority products.
Under the governance of Auto Stewardship New Zealand, a not-for-profit organization, B. I. G.
