Big 7Association

The Big 7 Association is a Barnwell, South Carolina nonprofit organization focused on strengthening its community and supporting young people. Founded in 1989 by seven local softball coaches and team managers, the association grew from efforts to provide children with safe, welcoming activities, including maintaining ball fields, hosting cookouts, and organizing teen events. Its work centers on education, leadership, and community support, with scholarships among its key programs.

The association’s annual Scholarship Banquet brings together students, families, supporters, and community leaders to celebrate achievement and invest in local futures. In 2025, it awarded scholarships to 17 high school seniors; its 2026 banquet recognized 16 scholarship recipients from high schools across Barnwell, Allendale, Bamberg, and Orangeburg counties. The organization also highlights community contributions and shares news and events related to its mission. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Big 7 Association invites donations and offers opportunities to become a scholarship partner. Its work reflects a commitment to helping young people thrive through encouragement, opportunity, and sustained community involvement.
