About Big Basin Vineyards
Big Basin Vineyards, located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, is a family-owned winery with a rich history dating back over 100 years. The winery, terraced into a steep hillside and originally planted by French immigrants, produces exquisite wines that beautifully express the terroir of the region. With a commitment to organic farming and minimal-intervention winemaking, Big Basin aims to create aromatic and ethereal wines that capture the essence of their carefully selected vineyard sites.
Founder and Owner Bradley Brown leads the team, working tirelessly to ensure the production of authentic and compelling wines. Joining him is Winemaker Blake Yarger, who brings a wealth of winemaking experience and a passion for terroir-driven wines. Wendy Brown, co-owner and business manager, utilizes her expertise in management and marketing for budgeting and planning.
Derek Brown, vineyard manager, oversees the Estate's Brokentop Ranch Viognier vineyard, while Ruthie Guido manages the wine club and direct marketing. Alex Potter, Tasting Room and Events General Manager, strives to create a memorable wine and food experience for visitors. Doug Spilman plays a vital role in the tasting room and event business.
