The Big Cities Health Coalition (BCHC) is a dynamic forum where leaders from America's largest metropolitan health departments come together to exchange strategies and tackle shared issues, with the aim of promoting and safeguarding the health and safety of the 62 million people they serve. These dedicated public health officials have a direct impact on the well-being of almost one in five Americans. BCHC is committed to advancing equity and health for present and future generations through the sharing of best practices, leadership, and advocacy.

They believe in creating healthier and more equitable communities through innovation and leadership in big cities. As part of their mission, BCHC recently unveiled their Urban Health Agenda, which places a strong emphasis on equity in urban public health. Membership in the coalition is extended to locally controlled health departments in major cities, with a population of at least 500,000.
