About Big hART
Big hART is Australia's leading arts and social change organization, dedicated to making a difference for the past 30 years. They use art as a powerful tool to build communities, drive change, and bring hidden injustices to light. By sharing stories that are often overlooked, they aim to create a deeper understanding that makes it harder to hurt someone, both on an individual and policy level.
Big hART's journey began in the industrial town of Burnie, Tasmania, when they collaborated with the community affected by the closure of a paper mill. Since then, they have expanded their innovative model to over 50 communities nationwide. As content producers, they create authentic and high-quality art in collaboration with professionals and local communities.
Their work spans across various mediums including film, theatre, documentary, events, music, podcasts, apps, and digital media. In addition to producing award-winning art, Big hART also focuses on community building through evidence-based approaches. Whether it's in the middle of the desert or isolated in urban areas, they strive to create strong and thriving communities.
To learn more about their impact and achievements, you can read their latest Annual Report. If you're passionate about making a difference and want to support their work, you can join them, shop from their online store, or make a donation. Big hART also welcomes partnerships and collaborations.
