Big Little Steps

Big Little Steps is a small, private preschool in Warsaw’s Wilanów district, founded by two sisters to create a warm, family-like place for young children. It offers two groups of around a dozen children, each supported by two qualified teachers, in bright, thoughtfully arranged rooms with spaces for rest, play and discovery. The preschool follows Poland’s national early-years curriculum while extending learning through its own projects, workshops and cultural and educational activities.

Its Step by Step approach encourages curiosity, independence and learning through experience. Educators value each child’s individuality and use principles of nonviolent communication, empathy and respect for children’s feelings and needs. Activities draw on a range of educational methods and include daily English, music and rhythm, creative and research workshops, mathematics, theatre, dance and movement. Children also receive ongoing support from psychologists and therapists, including speech and language activities. Daily outdoor play, meals and rest follow a child-friendly routine.
