BiglyBT is a renowned brand known for its peer-to-peer torrent client. The software is a fork of the Azureus and Vuze code and has a long-standing reputation for being powerful, feature-filled, and customizable. The founders of BiglyBT have been involved in the development of these clients for over 14 years and are committed to its continuous improvement.

The brand originated from the free software project Azureus, which gained popularity for its Java UI toolkit SWT and extensive list of features. After undergoing a transformation and rebranding process in Silicon Valley, Azureus became Vuze, with a focus on providing content from big names and enhancing video experiences for users. In 2017, the free software code developed by Azureus and Vuze was spun off into BiglyBT.

Notably, BiglyBT differentiates itself from other torrent clients through its use of the DHT (decentralized distributed system), which enables Swarm Discoveries, combining swarms for faster downloading, and anonymous communications. Additionally, BiglyBT boasts the most configurable seeding rules and allows for custom actions and organization of content. The brand follows the GNU GPLv3 license, enabling integration with Apache Licensed code and ensuring compatibility with third-party libraries, particularly for Android development.

Users, both technical and non-technical, can contribute to BiglyBT through bug reports, feature requests, translations, promoting the client, and assisting in listing the app on torrent sites. The brand is excited to cultivate contributions from the free software community. Overall, BiglyBT offers a comprehensive and efficient torrent client experience with continuous development and a commitment to free software principles
