Big Team Challenge helps workplaces, charities and public-sector organisations encourage healthier, more active communities through virtual step challenges. Organisers can create a custom challenge or choose from more than 300 walking routes around the world, where participants convert steps and other activities into progress along a map. Challenges are available on the web and through iPhone and Android apps, with tools for joining teams, tracking daily activity, chatting and syncing data from Fitbit, Garmin and other fitness trackers.
Organisers can select whether teams compete separately or combine their progress to travel together. Leaderboards can compare individuals, teams or organisational segments such as departments and locations, supporting friendly competition and shared goals. The platform also offers charity fundraising options, including JustGiving integration, alongside challenge resources, route information and setup guidance. Big Team Challenge presents its service as a way to make workplace wellbeing initiatives engaging and straightforward, with support available from its team. It also reports planting one tree for every 10 active participants who sign up to a challenge.
