Block Island Health Center is a community-focused primary care facility serving Block Island residents and visitors. Its mission is to support the health, safety, and well-being of the island through accessible care, in-house providers, partnerships with visiting specialists, and referrals to mainland services. The center offers full-spectrum primary care, urgent care, and care for emergent needs. Additional services include dental care, behavioral health, physical therapy, and other ancillary services. The center operates from an expanded, renovated campus with improved facilities and housing for its clinical teams. It also supports medical education through a rural health elective and rotating student placements, and shares health information through presentations and news updates. Community members can contribute through donations, membership, planned giving, and support for its capital campaign. The Livesey Endowment for Palliative and End-of-Life Care is intended to expand end-of-life care on the island. The center states that inability to pay will not prevent access to services and offers a discounted fee schedule based on family size and income.
