The Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon (BIH Half Marathon) is a vibrant community event held annually in the picturesque area of Bird-in-Hand, PA. This race not only challenges participants with its scenic half marathon and 5K courses but also emphasizes fun and camaraderie among runners and the local community.
Runners can enjoy a unique and engaging experience, starting with packet pickup on the day before the race, followed by events including a pre-race pizza party and a celebratory community picnic featuring BBQ and desserts. The highlight is the custom Horseshoe Finisher Medals, crafted from authentic horseshoes to symbolize the unique character of the region.
Both the half marathon and the 5K welcome runners and walkers of all skill levels, and families are encouraged to participate in a Kids Fun Run. Proceeds from the event support the Hand-in-Hand Fire Company, emphasizing the spirit of community support and engagement that makes the BIH Half Marathon a memorable occasion.
