Bijak Memilih

Bijak Memilih is an independent Indonesian civic education movement initiated by Think Policy and What Is Up Indonesia. It helps young people make informed choices in elections and is not affiliated with any particular candidate or political party. Its website brings together accessible information about public issues, political parties, and candidates, encouraging voters to assess policies, party records, and candidates’ backgrounds and ideas.

Resources include profiles of parties and presidential and vice-presidential candidates, comparisons of more than 30 candidate-pair proposals, summaries of presidential debate topics, and a short Election 101 course covering elections, state institutions, and political parties. Visitors can also explore party positions on issues such as energy transition, informal worker protections, and freedom of expression, take a quiz to find issues and parties that match their interests, and try an election-day simulation. Beyond election guidance, Bijak Memilih invites people to follow elected officials’ work through Bijak Memantau. The movement also offers events, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with communities to expand civic engagement and support more informed public participation.
