Bike and Hike Northland

Bike and Hike Northland Trust is a charitable organization supporting cycling and walking throughout Te Tai Tokerau Northland, New Zealand. It provides leadership, education and connections to help communities enjoy active recreation, improve safety and develop accessible routes. The trust works with clubs, community groups, schools and partners to promote the health benefits of biking and walking and strengthen Northland’s trail network.

Its programmes include Cycle Skills Training, based on the national Bike Ready education programme, and Bikes in Schools, which provides participating schools with bikes, helmets, storage, a riding track and skills training. The trust also advances the Northland Regional Trails Project and local initiatives such as Bream Bay, Kaipara, Tutukaka Coast and Far North trails.

Bike and Hike Northland helps people discover places to ride and walk, sharing information on cycling routes, mountain bike parks, urban paths, family rides, multi-day trips and walking tracks. It also connects affiliated groups, promotes events and supports collaboration, trail development and opportunities that benefit the region.
