BikeRegister is the UK’s national, Police-approved bicycle marking and registration scheme, owned by Selectamark Security Systems plc. Used by every UK police force, its database helps police identify stolen and recovered bicycles and supports owners in proving ownership. Cyclists can register bike details for free, check bikes and theft activity in their area, and search the database when considering a second-hand purchase. BikeRegister says hundreds of cyclists are reunited with stolen bikes each year.

To help deter theft, the brand sells security marking kits. Options include a tamper-resistant warning label with a QR code, a visible blue frame etch and warning sticker, and a covert kit using uniquely numbered microdots and a colourless UV frame mark. BikeRegister also provides guidance, account access and support through its website. The company reports that its kits can help reduce the likelihood of cycle theft by 83%, and more than 1.3 million bikes have been registered.
