BIKE WINDSOR-ESSEX

Bike Windsor-Essex is a community-focused organization working to promote safe, accessible, and sustainable cycling across Windsor and Essex County. It supports riders through practical programs, cycling resources, and its Bike Kitchen, a full-service bike shop at 862 Walker Road in Windsor. The shop sells new Brodie and Opus bicycles, refurbished bikes, and new and used parts and accessories. Riders can also become Bike Kitchen members to book time and work on their own repairs, or volunteer to help repair bicycles.

The organization offers cycling education and safety programs for schools and communities, including Safe Spokes, an eight-week spring program that helps participants build riding skills and confidence. Winter Wheels provides equipment and support for people interested in cycling during colder months. Bike Windsor-Essex also accepts donated bicycles for refurbishment or recycling, with restored bikes returned to the community.

Additional resources include a cyclists’ handbook covering bicycle basics, traffic laws, safety, road riding, and trails, as well as cycling maps and information about local routes.
